Victim ID'd In Late Afternoon District Heights Shooting: Police

Detectives have identified the victim in Thursday evening's fatal shooting in District Heights as 36-year-old David Lorenzo Smith of Washington, DC.

Officers first responded to the 6400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue shortly before 5 p.m., the department said on Twitter.

Upon arrival, they found Smith on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
